Submissions
Interested in working with Lythavere?
Lythavere Literary Management represents writers working across a broad range of fiction and nonfiction. Before submitting, we encourage you to read our agents' profiles and consider carefully who would be the strongest fit for your work.
We currently accept submissions by email only.
01
Before you submit
Please take a moment to read through our agents' profiles before sending your work. Each agent has particular areas of interest, and choosing the right fit helps us give your submission the consideration it deserves.
Please note
Please do not submit to more than one Lythavere agent at the same time.
Choose the agent whose interests most closely match your project and address your query to that agent.
02
What to send
A strong query does not need to be complicated. Please keep your submission concise and include the following three paragraphs in the body of your email.
- 01
Introduction
Tell us the title of your work, whether it is fiction or nonfiction, its category or subject, its estimated word count, and a brief introduction to the project.
- 02
The Book
This is where we would like to hear what makes the book compelling. Give us a concise overview that captures the central idea, story or argument and leaves us wanting to know more. Think of this as the description you might find on the back of a published book.
- 03
About the Author
Tell us a little about yourself and your background. Include anything relevant to the book, your professional or creative experience, and any platform, expertise or previous publishing that may be useful context.
03
Sample material
What to include depends on the kind of book you are submitting.
- Adult fiction, memoir, essay collections & children's books
- Include the first ten pages of your manuscript directly in the body of your email. This applies to adult fiction, adult memoir, adult nonfiction essay collections, and children's fiction or nonfiction.
- Picture books
- For fiction and nonfiction picture books, include the complete text. If your project is illustrated, you may also include a link to your portfolio or sample artwork.
- All other categories
- Keep your initial submission to the three paragraphs outlined above unless the agent specifically requests additional material.
Please do not send a full manuscript or proposal unless requested.
